Welcome to Equitable Dinners Atlanta - a transformative city-wide event bringing together people from diverse backgrounds in a facilitated conversation about complex issues, like racism. Equitable Dinners unique approach combines art and conversation, over a meal with neighbors and strangers, to create an experience where every voice has space and every story is sacred. Guests leave our events inspired to take positive action in their communities, workplaces, and their homes.

This year our theme is An Invitation to: Real Talk. Real Stories. Real Action.

Make meaningful connections with neighbors and strangers, share stories, and be inspired to take positive action and move Atlanta forward. Join the movement towards a more equitable Atlanta by hosting an Equitable Dinners event today.

A short one person play invites everyone into a shared experience of the pains and the joys of life. Participants are then guided in a facilitated conversation and share together how they can make a positive difference. Guests leave with a deeper connection with others, hopeful about the future and their role in it.

SPECIAL NOTE: We'd love for you to host. There are 2 options. 1) view a recorded version of the play 2) schedule to have a live actor perform. *For a live actor and facilitators to support your event, please schedule these events with at least 2 weeks lead time.

Each conversation is designed to help participants engage in conversation with depth, honesty, and mutual respect.

From September 17-24, 2023, Out of Hand Theater, the National Center for Civil and Human Rights, the Fulton County Remembrance Coalition and many other community partners hosted 1,000 people at 100 tables across Atlanta. This is the second year in which Equitable Dinners hosts engage conversations commemorating the 1906 Atlanta Race Massacre. Last year, we invited the community to gather around our theme: Better Me. Better We. Better World.

Meet The Host

A Note from the Host

REGARDING FOOD AND DRINK: Our dinner will be gluten free, with the exception of dinner rolls and desserts. We will be providing a catered dinner, non-alcoholic drinks, and dessert. (It will NOT, however, be vegetarian, vegan, pescatarian, nut free, or dairy free. Apologies for any confusion!) We're looking forward to welcoming our neighbors to join some of our church's regular attenders for this year's city-wide Equitable Dinners! All Souls Fellowship is located located in Decatur, just west of Avondale Estates and just a few miles east of downtown Atlanta. Our building is located about 1/4 mile west of the Avondale Estates MARTA Station and is accessible to those with disabilities.

What to Expect
Our format is designed to avoid debate or dominant voices, and instead encourages listening and understanding of different perspectives online and in-person
Conversation Host

Your conversation is led by one or more thoughtful hosts who follows our simple conversation guide. No one is expected to be an expert on the topic, and we make it really easy for anyone to feel confident hosting.

Small Group Gathering

Small groups of up to ten people work best to allow enough diverse perspectives and make sure everyone feels heard. Large events might use breakout rooms online or separate tables if in-person.

Structured Conversation

Each conversation has been carefully designed with 3 big questions that allow for personal storytelling. Prompts are provided to give any context or insights needed, and no preparation is required.

Equal Time to Share

Everyone gets equal time to answer each round of questions, with one voice at a time. This creates a brave space for listening. No need to formulate responses, as it's about sharing and receiving one another's perspective.

Shared Experience

Every conversation is powerful because of the deep connections made with one another, even in just a short time. Stay connected afterwards, share your story and commit to taking action afterwards.
